Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is the process of
applying various manual (hand) techniques to muscles and connective
tissue in order to enhance the function of those tissues and promote
relaxation and well-being. These techniques include kneading,
tapping, compression, vibration, rocking, and friction. Therapeutic
massage can ease tension and reduce pain. Massage can be a part of
physical therapy or practiced on its own. It can also be highly
effective for reducing the symptoms of arthritis, back pain, carpal
tunnel syndrome, and other disorders of the muscles and/or nervous
system.
Swedish Massage is the type of massage most frequently thought of when people
are looking for a soothing treatment of relaxation. Our
approach combines the long flowing strokes of classic Swedish Massage
and kneading to induce relaxation, enhance circulation, and melt away stress. The practitioner remains present and focused
during the massage session. In addition, communication with the
client helps to determine adjustments in pressure, areas of
focus, and duration of treatment. This approach maximizes our ability to
facilitate a healing environment for the well-being of our clients.
Reflexology

Reflexology is
an ancient healing art that focuses on areas of the feet which
correspond to all parts of the body.
There are ten zones in the body, starting at the 10 toes, and traveling
vertically up the body to the top of the head, and out to the 10
fingers. If anything within a zone is stimulated, injured or affected,
it can have an affect on any other organ or body system within that
zone. By touching the Reflex Zones on the feet, the nerve ending
transfers that touch (that energy) to travel up the zone through nerve
impulses and energetic pathways to bring corresponding areas of the body
within that zone into balance. Reflexology helps a person
to be in a
relaxed state, which will allow them to connect with their own
body’s natural healing power.
Science has shown that touch alone can trigger endorphins,
the body’s natural painkillers, to be circulated throughout the
body creating a relaxation response.
For some, Reflexology
is
an invaluable tool for relaxation and exploring the self.
Reflexology
is a wonderful tool to facilitate healing.
Many
clients reach at least the alpha brain wave
state. It is this level
of relaxation, similar to REM sleep, at which the central nervous
system makes its critical adjustments for the body's healthy
function. When in a
relaxed state, the body naturally knows what it needs to do to
restore its own balance. Reflexology aids in this process.

Hot Stones Massage

A deeply healing, personal experience for those in the healing process
or ready to "go within". Let the heat of the stones penetrate your
muscles and joints, allowing long-residing tensions to melt away
effortlessly. The stones are always checked by you to ensure your
temperature comfort...then soak up the benefits of healing from a place
of tranquility and comfort. (Session is 90 minutes) |
Ear Coning
Ear coning dates back to ancient times. The spiral of the cone and the
herbal smoke in the ear canal work together to draw out physical and emotional
debris into the cone. Ear coning may help with headaches, migraines,
congestion, earaches, respiratory congestion, mucus deposits, inflammation,
yeast, sinusitis and/or congestion caused by allergies. This is
non-invasive and very relaxing.
Reiki
Reiki helps balance the body on an energetic level. Ancient
Eastern cultures have worked with the seven energy centers (chakras)
in the body, allowing healing energy to flow to these areas in order to bring
a person back to a balanced, healthy state. There is Universal
Life Force (Chi, Ki, Qi, or Prana) that flows through all of us.
When our chakras are balanced and healthy, Chi flows naturally, and we
feel great peace, vitality, and harmony within ourselves. The
client is fully clothed for the session and the practitioner places
his or her hands just over or on the client, with the intention of
being a conduit; letting the Chi flow into or through the areas in which the
client needs balancing.
