"I believe that there is a dancer inside each of us. Yoga Dance helps us to discover the aliveness of our Spirit through dance and movement.   The vibrations from the music encourage our energy centers to resonate and move.  You don’t have to think, you just let the pulse of the music release all your stresses.  This is what I will be teaching in my class."

 

What is "Shake Your Soul" about?

 

Shake Your Soul is a unique and invigorating approach to body-spirit fitness, incorporating elements of movement therapy, Qi Gong, Yoga, and dance.

 

Can you describe a Shake Your Soul class?

Shake Your Soul classes are a balance of directed and spontaneous movement.  Each class is unique.  Although there is not a set format to a Shake Your Soul class, there is generally a gentle warm up with a progression of movements to loosen up the joints.  As the music tempo increases, participants start to move with more rhythm and power.  Gradually the instructor stops being the choreographer and invites students to create their own movement patterns. 

Do you have to be physically fit to participate?

Shake Your Soul is appropriate for all fitness levels.  However, if you are new to exercise, you should consult your physician before beginning any type of fitness program.

Do you need to have had formal dance training?

You do not need any training in dance to participate in Shake Your Soul.  All you need is a love of music and movement!
